Security & Privacy

Applies to Apple TV Updated 2 min read

IC Realtime TV includes built-in security features to protect access to your camera feeds.

PIN Lock

Restrict access to the app with a 4-digit PIN:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Security.
  2. Select Set PIN.
  3. Enter a 4-digit code and confirm it.

Once enabled:

  • The PIN is required every time the app launches.
  • The app automatically locks when it goes to the background (e.g., switching to another app).
  • You can manually lock the app at any time using Settings > System > Security > Lock Now.

Changing or Removing the PIN

  • Go to Settings > System > Security and select Change PIN or Disable PIN.
  • You'll need to enter your current PIN to make changes.

API Authentication

If you use external control systems to interact with IC Realtime TV, you can require token-based authentication for API access:

  • Go to Settings > System > Security > API Authentication.
  • When enabled, external commands must include a valid token.

Local-Only Streaming

All video streams in IC Realtime TV travel directly between your Apple TV and your cameras over your local network. There is no cloud relay — your video never leaves your network. This architecture provides:

  • Lower latency — Direct connections mean minimal delay.
  • Maximum privacy — No third-party servers see your video.
  • Network independence — The app works even if your internet connection goes down, as long as your local network is operational.
