Step 1: Install the IC Bunker Gateway

Applies to IC Bunker Updated 2 min read

Bunker Quick Start · Step 1 of 6

Install the Gateway.

Connect the network first, then power, then give the Gateway time to check in before you try to register it.

Step 1 · Gateway 1 of 6
1 Connect Ethernet Network first
→
2 Connect Power Gateway boots automatically
→
3 Wait 5 Minutes Allow cloud check-in

Place and connect.

The Gateway announces itself to the IC Bunker cloud automatically. There is no claim code, activation code or on-device configuration.

01

Place the Gateway

Install the Gateway where it has adequate airflow and access to a wired network drop. The Gateway is fanless and cools passively, so do not seal it inside a closed cabinet.

02

Connect Ethernet

Plug in Ethernet before connecting power. The Gateway must be on the same network segment as the cameras.

03

Connect Power

Connect the supplied power adapter. The Gateway boots in roughly two minutes and connects to the IC Bunker cloud on its own.

04

Wait five minutes

The Gateway checks in with the cloud every five minutes. It must complete at least one check-in before its serial number can be found during registration.

05

Record the serial number

Find the serial number on the label on the bottom of the Gateway and write it down. You'll enter this serial number when you register the Gateway in Step 4.

5 Min

Don't rush the check-in.

The app can only find a Gateway serial number after the Gateway has successfully checked in with the IC Bunker cloud. Use this time to move on to Step 2 and create the customer account, organization and site.

What the status means.

Don't rely on lights on the Gateway. Once registered, its status is shown in the Bunker web app.

Online

The Gateway is connected and has successfully checked in with the IC Bunker cloud.

Offline

The cloud has not heard from the Gateway for about six minutes. It will return to Online automatically the next time it successfully checks in.

Important

Do not press the recovery button.

The recovery button is for factory use only. Pressing it puts the Gateway into a factory service mode. If the button has been pressed, contact IC Realtime Support.
