How to add Dual Lens and Quad Lens cameras to a NVR

Applies to Recorders Updated 2 min read

This guide will cover how to add multi channel cameras (IPEL-DL80F and IPEL-M80V) to a recorder

You can also use this same method to add channels from one recorder to another

Requirements:

  •  The camera MUST be attached to a separate switch on the LAN network or the recorder must be in bridge mode.
    • The unit also must have power going to it in some way, either POE or a AC power adapter.
  • Finally, the camera must also be initialized before adding it to the recorder

On the Main Menu, Navigate to Advanced Settings or Setup. Select Camera Configuration or Remote Device.

1. Fill out the IP address of the Multi Lens Camera (or Recorder) you would like to add with the same credentials (Username and Password) for that device.

  • Choose the appropriate manufacturer, Private for ICRealtime, Onvif for 3rd party cameras.
(When using Private for ICRealtime and Clearview cameras you will also need the TCP port value. For Onvif devices, you will need the HTTP and RTSP ports.)

2. Channel No: this will be the channel number as it shows up on the recorder

3. Remote Channel: the individual lenses of the camera or channel of the recorder you would like to add

4. Select "Connect" then "OK". The recorder will automatically list the cameras and will display online. On the camera list, it will display the same IP address for both devices but the remote channel will be numbered differently based on the lens of the camera or channel of the added recorder.

  • After the proper fields has been filled out, the device status will show green when online.
